Information on the map includes: roads, primary road address numbers, new Rt-9 and proposed Rt-9 and it's bicycle path, C&O canal and towpath, paved off-road bicycle paths, hiking trails, communities, subdivisions, perennial drainage, shopping centers, business parks, and US / state / county government facilities. Symbols indicate post offices, hospitals, police and fire stations, libraries, schools, parks, train commuter stations, visitor centers, golf courses, public boat ramps and access for carrying small boats, major cemeteries, and canal locks.
